Old phone → baby monitor

Turn an old Android phone into a baby monitor

Use a spare Android phone near the child and your main phone as the parent monitor. MultiPhoneCam provides live video and audio over your local network, and it can work without internet by using an offline hotspot.

  • No cloud account
  • Works locally
  • Android
  • Up to 8 cameras

A baby monitor using phones you already have

Instead of buying another device, you can reuse an Android phone that is sitting in a drawer. Place the spare phone near the child as the Camera and keep your regular phone with you as the Master. The Master receives the live view and audio.

Works on your local network

MultiPhoneCam does not require a cloud account for the connection. The two phones can communicate over your home WiFi. If you are somewhere without a router, the Master can create its own hotspot so the setup can still work locally.

Video and audio monitoring

Baby Monitor mode is intended for quiet monitoring while the Camera phone stays near the child. You can watch and listen from the Master, while the Camera can continue operating with the screen off to reduce distraction.

More than a baby monitor

The same installation can later be used for CCTV, audio-only monitoring or multi-camera recording. You do not need a separate app for every use case.
